Fractionally charged quasiparticle

Is a quasiparticle which has fractional eletric charge. Experimentally can manifest itself in the transport experiments (such as noise measurements).
Fractionally charged quasiparticles often appear in theoretical treatment of topological insulators such as fractional quantum Hall effect, fractional Chern insulators etc.
Theory often predicts them to obey unusual statistics (such as anyonic or non-abelian statistics) but this has not been confirmed (or disproved) experimentally for any system yet.
